Glowing Reports from 24-7 Ireland in Dark TimesGillian Best - 22 Apr 2009

In the current economic climate all eyes are on how businesses and organizations will display their first quarter performances. Many predict that the already bleak outlook will in fact be much worse with poor figures to back it up. Yet 24-7 Prayer in Ireland has had it's busiest quarter yet. We have had close to 40 prayer rooms in the past 3 months in our nation! From Antrim to Athy, Cork to Coolock, and Galway to Glengormley, people seem to have caught the whisper of the Spirit which would seem to say that in times such as these, we are called to pray like never before.

A couple weeks ago in Lurgan, which has recently been in the news with violence and unrest on the streets, the churches united and prayed in the old Post Office for the period up to Easter. A town, which still has division, has hope because of praying people. Our nation still has hope because of a praying church!

At 24-7 Ireland, we have been so encouraged by the number of churches and organizations that have taken the time to register their prayer rooms. This builds faith and community to realize that you are not on your own when running a prayer room. There is something special about realizing that there is a genuine community and movement of 24-7 pray-ers all across this great nation. So let us continue to look with faith to all that God has for us in the next quarter. Let's continue to seek God, serve others and pray like crazy.
