Birthday ScrapbookScot Bower - 19 Feb 2010

Last weekend in London 24-7 Prayer began its 10th birthday celebrations (we're planning on keeping the party going all year!). It was such a great day, beautiful and glorious. I've been foraging through blogs and flickr accounts to create a little scrapbook reflection of words and pictures:

I wasn't sure whether to go or not (to IAM10), firstly because the last couple of weeks have been very non-stop and secondly i wasn't sure if i 'belonged' there. But as i walked in the door of the venue i remembered that that's exactly the thing that keeps me coming back for more - there is no 'membership', there is no 'in' and 'out', and i have always felt very at home at any 24-7 gatherings that I've been to think its the connection - the shared desire to push the boundaries, not settle, to dream and scheme and journey, and see where God leads. It's the passion for prayer and for mission and for justice, the longing for community and creativity and expression of LOVE in countless way… From Katrina's blog.

We had an amazing evening yesterday at 24/7's, IAM10 party, celebrating miracles conceived, anticipated miracles to come and rejoiced that God's story is getting far more exciting, more crazy and more out of control than we could ever imagine. AND ITS AMAZING from Caught up in Something Bigger

...the stories we heard from one another as we wandered around with the microphone early in the day... 'first' encounters with 24-7 prayer... 'funny' or 'favourite' moments... and hopes for the 'future'. We heard from friends who'd joined us from Germany, Austria and Korea. We heard about a prayer room on the Isle of Sheppey that caught fire. And we heard lots of hope and faith for this virus of prayer, mission and justice to spread and spill into the world. from Toggies Tales

Lasting impressions? The friendships that span the nation(s). And that this is still a movement; it hasn't fossilised into an organisation.  One simple inspiring idea has generated a wealth of creative prayer and profound world changing action. In many ways, this looks to me more like the church than almost anything else I know. from Tim's blog

Pete Greig talked about pregnancies and births looking back at the last 10 years and ahead at the exciting stuff thats brewing across the movement right now. His message, 'Magnify' , based on Marys song from Luke 1 is available as a free download.

The day was interspersed with lovely birthday video messages from 24-7 friends and family around the world they're up now and available on 24-7 Prayer's YouTube Channel. But my personal favourite comes from Jon Bilbrough and friends (Jon's EP Gallop is currently available for purchase online)
