URGENT PRAYER - UKRAINE 'REVOLUTION' - 22 Nov 2004

Following the Ukrainian Presidential elections, there is high tension amidst allegations that the poll was rigged.

One 24-7 contact working as a missionary in Kiev reports the following in the last few minutes:

"It looks more and more like revolution every hour.  Schools, businesses, etc. are starting to announce shutdowns for tomorrow, in anticipation of mass rallies.  We already have 100,000 gathered in the main square of Kiev, and that number is supposed to double overnight.  The parliament of the largest city in the west, Lviv, has declared unanimously that it will follow the orders and directions of the opposition candidate, even though he hasn't been declared the winner!"

As I write (Monday 22nd) riot police and solidiers are on the streets to keep order,  while another friend working in Ukraine has written asking for more prayer and suggesting this article to give some quick background to our prayers:

Please pray that justice will be done in this election and that the volatile situation will not overflow into violence.
