As frantic activity and excitement build for Magnify, which kicks off in Edinburgh this evening, we received this encourgement from Jay Lucas in New Zealand. Jay is base leader for the country and we're sorry he won't be joining us this time. Whether you're in Edinburgh this weekend or not let Jay's words be an encouragement to you.
Dear friends.
It's a rainy Thursday morning, September 16th, here in Auckland today. The kids are watching Chuggingtons; Erin's whizzed off to the prayer room for an hour before she goes for a check up on baby's heart beat.
And I'm thinking about you all. I know you're a day away from kick-off, but I so hope you have an incredible time of celebration, and that God exceeds your expectation there in Edinburgh. The expectations of world evangelism that filled the 1910 conference, were shaken as the world soon entered an awful time of war soon after the conference was to end - how were the delegates to know what was about to take place?
So, who knows what befalls the world, in the years following this gathering. But I do pray that a mighty overflow of love for Jesus, for one-another, and for the world will unusually overwhelm you all over the next few days. May His Spirit generate life anew in the heart of all who enter Magnify. I'm reminded of what God's name - El Shaddai - means: I am here to do for you, what you cannot do for yourself! May El Shaddai overshadow Magnify.
Miss you all.
Arohanui,
