Magnify - A Swiss ReflectionThe Phantom Intercessor - 21 Oct 2010
Martina Meyer from Switzerland wrote this encouraging reflection of her time at 24-7 Prayer's international gathering Magnify. It was originally published on the 24-7 Switzerland website. If you were at the gathering and would like to pen some thoughts please get in touch.
It's been ten years since I first set foot in a Prayer Room. That was back in the spring of 2000 in Thun, Switzerland as the first 24-7 Prayer Room outside of the UK was launched.
Much has happened in the decade that followed that day in Thun. Back then 24-7 Prayer was an international movement because one crazy Swiss leader called Susanna got involved, today we're an international movement involved in 105 countries around the world! Out of a dream for a single year of prayer we have seen 10 and it's not over yet!
These ten years of non-stop prayer, mission and justice were celebrated in Edinburgh (Scotland) at the international gathering Magnify it was a time for reflection, thankfulness and foresight, listening to where God might be leading 24-7 Prayer next.
Encouragingly the Swiss delegation who made their way to Magnify was bigger than we'd ever sent to to a 24-7 gathering and I was privileged to be a part of it. The days in Scotland were wonderful. A great mix of worship, main sessions, prayer, workshops and lots of community time. I've been encouraged, motivated and inspired anew.
One thing become clear again during our time in Scotland: we've got a surprising God. God surprised 24-7 with a movement which has grown beyond all our dream. And so I myself, newly inspired, begin to hope and to understand again, that God wants to do more, if I will only let Him. Magnify in Scotland came to an end a month ago, but God is moving, in my life and in yours.
The main session talks as well as some great testimonies are available to watch online or download. The workshop sessions are coming soon.
