Approaching Christmas with Love - Day 3Resa Daven - 22 Dec 2010
Living Together & Love
Love is sharing and love is laughter.
It puts others first.
It forgets when a housemate has a grumpy morning.
Love is tears and love is hugs.
It is emptying the dishwasher and it is bringing in the paper in the morning.
It is setting the bread machine at night, even if you won't be the first one up to enjoy it.
Love is emptying the cat's litter box.
It is keeping your enthusiastic conversations to a whisper if you know your housemates are sleeping.
It takes time to listen when someone needs to talk, even after a long day.
Love gives space and love takes space.
Love makes cake taste better when shared.
Love is endless cups of tea.
Love is giving up personal freedoms.
Love welcomes others.
Love even washes the sheets the Couchsurfers used and hangs them to dry.
Love hurts when others hurt.
Love hurts even more when you can't help.
Love is sometimes just being there.
Love is a gift and love is necessary.
Love always looks out for others.
Love trusts.
Love keeps on loving.
As we wait for Christmas, the celebration, the feast and the wonder of an incarnate God 24-7 Prayer will be posting a series of reflections to help us to wait well. We have asked friends from across the movement and around the world to creatively express themselves and focus us on the coming of Christ. During the final week of advent, as the anticipation of the arrival of Jesus builds we are encouraged to wait with Love. Follow along with the 24-7 Prayer 'Approaching Advent' Calendar.
