Approaching Christmas with Joy - Day 5 - 17 Dec 2010

JOY

‘Joy to the world the Lord has come’ I sing
Though seldom do I grasp just what I’ve said
In Heaven’s raiment clothed eternal King
God put on rank humanity instead

His joy is in the debt He overcame
Because for Him I was the joy and prize
For my own sake He bore my sin and shame
Now He’s the joy that’s set before my eyes

I wait on Him – He holds me lest I fall
And gives the strength to fly above my fear
If I faint in troubles my strength is small
But His joy gives the strength to persevere

Joy to the world let men their songs employ
The Christ has come to share with me His joy

As we wait for Christmas, the celebration, the feast and the wonder of an incarnate God 24-7 Prayer will be posting a series of reflections to help us to wait well. We have asked friends from across the movement and around the world to creatively express themselves and focus us on the coming of Christ. During the 3rd week of advent we're thinking about Joy.  Follow along with the 24-7 Prayer 'Approaching Advent' Calendar.
