Campus America: On the HomestretchRachel Wegner - 6 Dec 2010
Hello there, dearly loved 24-7 Prayer family!
The last bit of our Year of Prayer has blazed by in a vision of statewide gatherings, stories of salvation and healing and transformed lives and stirring words shared by our friends. As the Campus America initiative enters its final stages, the team here in Kansas City is celebrating, reflecting and processing the wild and God-ordained ride behind us. We have truly gained a “boatload of friends” from this season and have some unforgettable stories to tell. Of course, students will not stop praying and the now-assembled 24-7 Prayer USA team will always champion the cause of prayer on university campuses. We’ll have an open letter to our Campus America family posted on our website in the next week or so detailing more of what’s to come as 24-7 Prayer USA comes into full swing.
For now, I wanted to share this incredibly moving video by Nathan Chud with you all. Nate, along with Trent Sheppard, just finished the God on Campus Tour on November 19. The tour took them to campuses far and wide across America and they had many powerful encounters with students as they spurred them on to dream and pray for their campuses and grapple with the tensions of following Jesus during their university years. This video showcases a poetic piece that Nate wrote as he was studying at Boston University. He shared this piece each night of the tour. I hope it stirs you as much as it has stirred the hearts of countless students and friends these last few months.
The full text of this video is available via Nate’s website. For the audio version of it, listen to our latest Campus America podcast. Stay tuned for a final blog entry from me as we officially wrap up Campus America and move ahead boldly with what the Lord has for 24-7 Prayer USA!
Heaps of love,
Rachel
