My Top Ten List - 5 Jan 2011

Some of my friends do a “Top 10” list every year. I’ve never done one so I thought I’d give it a go. Rating them 1-10 seemed like a lot of pressure. Instead I thought I’d just put them in date order and let each speak for itself. Here they are in the order they transpired…

My first day back in the 24-7 London office: It took nearly a year to sort out my UK visa and yet only a moment to feel like I’d never been away.

International Prayer Team once-yearly face-to-face meeting: Five people who love what we do and love to be together. Prayer. Strategy. Food. Laughter. More prayer. What’s not to like?

The 24-7 Prayer London office move: London office to Reading storage facility. Two 3½ ton box vans. One van giving up all but 4th gear in London rush hour. (Pete Ward, 24-7’s operations manager, deserves a medal for heroic driving. I don’t know how he managed it but it sure did make for some interesting smells from the engine!)

Big Church Day Out:
3 days. 2 locations. 1 amazing 24-7 booth where I talked/listened to people all day about prayer. Oh, and seeing Israel Houghton 3 days in a row was pretty great too!

Visits from my peeps: 16 Americans visited me over the summer. Some stayed with me, some I met up with for a day or so. I hope the trend continues next year.

Putting an Edinburgh map/prayer-rug back in our prayer room 6 years later:
9 Portlanders. 1 prayer room near the Royal Mile during the Fringe. A 6-yr-old map/rug from an old prayer room. It’s a bit of a story which I blogged about last year.

My first Rewind video: Shot on location from Calton Hill in Edinburgh. I’ll admit I don’t love being in front of the camera, but it was still fun.

Magnify: Edinburgh. 400 people who love 24-7 Prayer. Old friends. New friends. Vision and encouragement. It was amazing!

24-7 Council meeting: I exercised some of my admin/organizational magic for the 24-7 Council. Some extra time after Magnify. A great excuse to hang out, pray and eat with friends from around the world.

The new London office: 6+ months with no office. Suddenly a new office! We’re now starting the New Year together again. I can’t tell you how happy that makes me!
