Prayer Season for European Universities?Claude Marsh - 21 Feb 2011

Last year the Campus America initiative brought non-stop prayer to over 175 universities in the United States clocking up more than 60,000 hours of prayer. When Campus America finished at the end of year (it was only ever intended to run for one year) and the team dispersed as 24-7 Prayer US  relaunched, many of us were  left watching and wondering 'what next'. Does God  have something more in store for 24-7 Prayer on University and college campuses? What about the campuses of Europe? or Asia? or Africa? At the moment we continue to watch and wait and hope that if and when God speaks we will have ears to hear and the faith to step out again following in the footsteps of our friends at Campus America.

Recently Claude Marsh from Malta emailed to ask much the same question and share a dream.

I am not a University student and am not involved with work among students, but at the beginning of last July I had a dream:

In the dream I was with an Arabic Pastor in Malta and he was giving me an update on what God was doing on University campuses in Europe. He said that already on two campuses there were 80 students being impacted/touched by God’s presence and that it was going to spread to every campus in Europe. We waited expectantly for news of awakening movements of the Spirit from one moment to the next.  I had the impression that there had been an effort for Revival on Each Campus.

I didn't understand why I would even have a dream like this until mid-December.  I was at the Prayer Room and as I worshiped I remembered the dream and started getting stirred for God to raise up a prayer movement on campuses in Europe. The prayer movement is what prepares the way for awakening, and progresses into an outworking of missions resulting in disciples being made and churches planted.

Awakening might look different than what we are used to.  In fact, in the dream there was an excitement about 80 people on 2 campuses, so obviously before God it’s more than numbers.

I would like to invite you, especially if you are a student or live close to a campus, to start praying and worshiping daily and fasting weekly, preparing the way for God’s Spirit to move on your Campus.
