Teacher needed for Zambian OrphansScot Bower - 16 Feb 2011

Could you make a difference to these children's lives?

Our feature story this week is all about the marriage of Prayer and Justice, and the Lifespring foundation know that relationship better than almost anyone that 24-7 have worked alongside over the past 10 years.
Lifespring are a small grass-roots charity that work with the marginalised in Africa, widows, orphans and vulnerable families have all benefited from their work.

Less than 5 years ago Lifespring converted a couple of little houses and started a small school to serve the local community:

We were compelled to do something about the lack of education opportunities for the many orphaned children who had no hope of being able to have  a place at school. Living with elderly or sick relatives with little food or clothing there was no chance that these children would be able to find the fees necessary for a place at any of the Zambian schools as there are no state subsidised places.

Right now they have an immediate need for a teacher to cover whilst the head-teacher takes maternity leave.

We don't carry adverts on this website... but every rule has one exception right?

Are you a teacher looking for a life-changing challenge? Friends of 24-7 have started a school primarily for AIDS orphans in Ndola, Zambia and they are currently praying for a volunteer to come and help run the school alongside Zambian teachers while the head-teacher goes on maternity leave from March 2011.
The chosen applicant will receive free board and accommodation in a comfortable lodge on a nearby banana farm, as well as spending money. Find out more at www.thelifespringfoundation.com All enquiries to Andrea Clarke.
