The Global Day of Prayer and the World Weekend of Prayer for Children

An awesome number of ‘amen’s will be rising to God in the next few weeks as millions of Christians around the world are mobilising to pray.  Get involved and be part of the largest prayer meeting on planet earth.

First up… 24-10 and the Global Day of Prayer

From tomorrow (2nd June) prayerful preparations are being made in the run up to Pentecost.  Many are running 24-10 Prayer Rooms to talk to God night and day while others are covering the same themes by praying in their daily lives.  Are you joining in?

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

On Pentecost Sunday (12th June) the crescendo of prayer climaxes with prayer gatherings held in every nation on planet earth!  There’s still time to find a gathering near you or arrange how your community will pray.  Gather in Churches, homes, communities or significant places to pray ‘your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  Prayer guides, resources and information are all available from the Global Day of Prayer website.

Pray for the Children of the world

In the midst of ten days of prayer around the world, VIVA is asking us to pray for children.  The world weekend of prayer for children at risk (4th – 5th June) is an annual event that mobilises over 2 million across the globe.  Many will be praying about issues of family, health, education and government to see the lives of the young, improved throughout the earth.

"Don't push these children away. Don't ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom.” Mark 10 (MSG)

Free prayer guides and information are available from the Viva website.  Why not decide now to be part of a national gathering, to pray with your church or even with a few friends. Check out the website for further ideas.

Both the Global Day of Prayer and the World Weekend of Prayer for Children are an amazing opportunity to be a part of a global cry for our world and young people.  It doesn’t take a lot to get involved so decide now to add your amen.
