Pray for Sudan: Peace and ProtectionRebecca Dunning - 22 Jul 2011

In the Nuba Mountains in South Sudan intensive fighting continues. The continual bombardment of fighter jets all over the mountainous area is a daily program for the Sudanese Government. Twenty people were killed in Kurchi three weeks ago, three victims died in Alatmor village and hundreds are reported injured. The Sudanese Government is sending the military to clear the Nuba Mountains and destroy all churches built by Samaritan’s Purse.

Here are some prayer points:

  1. 1. Pray for peace and an end to the fighting and jet bombardments all over Nuba area.
  2. Pray for the believers in the area and for the protection of the church in Sudan.
  3. Ask the Father to protect the civilians which have sought refuge in churches, but have been made targets there, with much looting and acts of vandalism to the churches.
  4. Pray for an end to the human rights violations which are MANY!

Father, we praise you that you still reign supreme, even in the midst of this horrifying situation.  We ask that the ongoing fighting in Sudan would come to an end. Together we pray for peace in the Nuba area. Would you protect the civilians and the church along with its work in Sudan. Father, would you heal the injured and stop the many human rights violations.  Let your kingdom come to the Nuba region and all of Sudan.
