Japan: Launching Yokohama Prayer RoomRebecca Dunning - 3 Aug 2011
Reports from Jon Petersen and the 24-7 Prayer teams in Japan continue to come in. Here's an extract from Jon's latest report.
…[On our next trip] we'll be launching the Yokohama Prayer Room in conjunction with a number of the churches in the city, continuing to enlarge the circle of key contacts, and seeking to identify a 24-7 Prayer Coordinator for Japan.
We are still convinced, ongoing; persistent prayer is the answer for Japan. It is the rationale for wanting to release people on monthly Prayer Journeys beginning this fall. Please pray that we'll see a key person or couple step in to take a coordinating role for the Yokohama Prayer Room and the Prayer Journeys to Tohoku - it is the #1 prayer request for this season.
... {Our team] went to a CRASH Japan base camp about a two hour drive outside of the radiation zone to receive ministry training with Kokoro-no Care from Dr. Andy Meeko. He gave us a quick medical, counseling, and psychological briefing, and then taught us how to engage people in stress relieving techniques including hand massages, administering tests and counseling conversations.
…We then drove up to another CRASH base farther north in Sendai. Our goal here was to just refresh and minister to those staffing the camp, engaging in a variety of ministry. The staff there was predominantly made up of Christian, science scholars who were working on water quality issues due to radiation.
The team at this camp asked us if we'd lead them in a time of worship. As Josh led worship, the presence of God began to fill the place and God began ministering to people. I started praying for people, receiving different meaningful pictures for people and speaking words of life to them as I tried to listen to what the Father wanted to communicate to them. Other team members began giving the Sendai camp team hand massages, listening and ministering to them. Tears poured out of some of the staff. Freedom broke in and over people. The room was filled with joy. God met us and really encouraged and refreshed the Sendai team. It was really beautiful and they were really thankful and appreciative.

Please continue to pray for Jon and the teams of people visiting Japan to bring healing and restoration. Ask the Father for the hearts of the Japanese people to be open to good news of Jesus.
