Counting down to the 24-7 Eurogathering 2011Scot Bower - 30 Sep 2011

1 week until Aufstehen

This time next week 300 people from across Europe and beyond will be gathering in the German city of Frankfurt to pray, believe and dream for this wonderful post-christian continent.

Yesterday we heard from the Global Generation team who have lovingly translated their Revival Run prayer stakes into every European language and will be bringing them along to the gathering with the hope that these will be dispersed across the nations as a network of prayer spreads around Europe. 24-7'ers are known to love a challenge (however else would you fill a 3am prayer slot?) and the idea of friends travelling together crossing borders to pray for a neighbouring country is one that I'm sure will appeal to the Eurogathering crowd.

If you're still undecided about coming have a read of these compelling words from 24-7's European Director Ian Nicholson:

I am writing this just a week ahead of ‘Aufstehen’,‘24-7’s Eurogathering in Frankfurt. Quite honestly I can’t recall ever being so expectant about a gathering as this one. It is not so much the fantastic programme of speakers and seminars or the chance to meet with friends that excites me but the sense that Jesus is calling us together to meet with Him. Throughout the preparation there has been a clarity in the theme that we are being called as church in Europe to stand and also a steady flow of prophetic words about the gathering and our role within 24-7.

Europe has reached a crossroads as nation after nation is being  rocked by riots, shaken by economic cuts  and demoralised by unemployment. Leaders are confused and  fear and insecurity reign.  The future will belong to those who project hope and in my opinion that is only found, in a deep and lasting way, among those who know God and are living lives of simplicity and faithfulness in following Jesus. As we travel from the four corners of our continent – Iceland to Turkey and Finland to Spain ( not forgetting those coming from Australia and the US) could I encourage us to be praying and fasting and preparing our hearts to spend time with God and be expecting Him to be among us. I am praying that this gathering will plant seeds that will change a continent in the years to come. See you in Frankfurt!

Tickets for the weekend are available on line now for £50 or on the door for €60. (Day and evening tickets will also be available on the door.)
