Boiler Rooms Go Boom! - 11 Jan 2005
Prayer, justice, creativity, pilgrimage, community, mission....
Across the planet, a growing number of people are exploring these values as part of 24-7 Boiler Room communities. There's all kinds of plans and prayers going on and plenty happening as the year kicks off- so get primed for 2005:
First North American Boiler Room....
 Calgary |
The launch of the urban monastery [um] in the skiing, skating and snowboarding capital of Calgary, Canada is happening 30 January! The team leader for [um] Paul Wegenast says:
"Our first 'wild goose,' 24-7 prayer intern, Laura is |
|
coming over from the UK for a three month internship. Laura will be involved in helping launch the boiler room of prayer in the [um] as well as living an urban monk lifestyle. She will also be involved in ministering out in Morley (Stoney Indian Reserve) as well as helping out at the Jesus Loves You Family Outreach Centre with poor families and young children. Please pray for our team as we go through final preparations for the launch. There are many details and needs that are yet to be fulfilled!" check out the Calgary website for more details | |
London... Boilers pick up non-stop prayer baton
 London |
In the week leading up to the Calgary launch, there's non-stop prayer happening in Boiler Rooms and 'aspiring' Boiler Rooms from East to West across the UK capital, London - now the 24-7 London Year of Prayer is over, the Boiler Rooms are taking up the baton of continuous prayer for the city! |
Meanwhile churches in Thurrock, where there's a vision for an East London Boiler Room, will pray 2 weeks solid from 16-30 January! To find out more about the prayer weeks and the Boiler vision for the Thames Gateway region email: [email protected]
Boiler by the beach....
The amazing YWAMers at the Brighton Boiler, recently cranked up their new website - check it out for the latest prayer initiatives in the party city on England's seaside South Coast. The south London Salvation Army Boiler in Wandsworth is also gearing up for the year ahead. Email: [email protected] for more info.
Hot prayer in the City....
Talking of London - there are whispers about a possible City of London Boiler Room - pray about these plans as the team explore what a Boiler Room might look like in the city's financial district - this area's activities have a global impact and it's exciting to think that prayer might be happening at the heart of it!
Prayer pioneers....
And finally.... keep praying for our faithful "Abbot" Andy Freeman (seen in a moment of - ahem- monastic contemplation on the right!) and the Boiler Room pioneers in Reading, England as they prepare for a move to new premises - their hard work is the inspiration for all this!
