Pray Now 4: Tragedy Again Strikes Virginia Tech UniversityRachel Wegner - 11 Dec 2011

On Thursday, December 8, a gunman killed a police officer and then himself on the Virginia Tech University campus in the U.S. In April 2007, this very same campus was devastated by a massacre that left 32 dead (including the gunman) and 25 others injured. The gunman's motives are still unclear in the aftermath of last week's shooting.

Please join us as we pray for the many members of the Virginia Tech community and the friends, family and loved ones of both the shooter and the officer who was killed. Here are a few focus points to help you as you pray.

  • Pray for peace and comfort for the people affected by both last week's shootings and those who continue to grieve the 2007 massacre.
  • Pray that Jesus' name and God's love will be made known at Virginia Tech.
  • Pray for that followers of Jesus will be able to sow seeds of love, hope, peace, comfort and healing into these situations.
