Revival Run: One year Anniversary - 17 Feb 2012
“I saw a vision of trails of fire over a map of the UK being formed from the south to the north, north to the west, west to the east and then they simply went everywhere. It was chaos yet beautiful; it was revival prayers being given away from one place to another.” Mike Andrea, founder of Revival Run and leader of Global Generation Church, UK
Revival Run celebrated its one-year anniversary last month and with its tagline ‘be the adventure’ it was sure to be a year with many stories to tell. From Austria to America to Australia people are praying radical prayers as a gift to God and a place they don’t call home. Interested? So were we!
Revival Run finds its roots in the scripture “prefer one another in love” Romans 12:10. The vision is to take some of your biggest, boldest prayers and pray them over a place other then home. They are acts of extreme generosity from one church to another. Simply ask God to give you a burden for a church, village, town, city or even a nation, then travel there with a prayer stake and as you place the prayer stake in the ground, cry out to God for revival to breakout over that area.
Since members of Global Generation Church, led by Mike Andrea the founder of Revival Run and close friend of 24-7, embarked on the first revival run adventure in Jan 2011, they have seen similar adventures spring up all over the planet. Christians everywhere selflessly travel with prayer stakes, and their most powerful weapon, prayer. It’s beautiful to think of all these prayers being cried out to God to see revival break out, not just in their towns and for their sakes, but for His mighty name and His lost people. Just think, maybe someone you will never meet has travelled to your town or your church to cry out for God’s kingdom to invade.
If you feel inspired to have an adventure of your own, we dare you to go somewhere and prayer your most god-inspired, outrageous prayers of faith for God to move there. Check out the Revival Run website for stories and tips on how to do your very own Revival Run and make sure you catch this week’s rewind video which will be a ‘Rewind Special’ featuring Mike Andrea and Global Generation Church, the HQ of Revival Run.
