Thousands of Children Are PrayingPhil Togwell - 27 Feb 2012

Inspiring New Video from Prayer Spaces in Schools.

The dream was to give children a place to meet with God. The dream was to give children a foundation of knowing God passionately and intimately cares about them.  The dream was to disciple a whole generation. The dream was Prayer Spaces in Schools.
The Prayer Spaces in Schools team are turning this dream into a reality and impacting the lives of thousands of children and young people as, for a day or a week, classrooms become sacred spaces; Places of creative prayer that give opportunities for children to ask the big questions and encounter God.

For the past six months a team have been filming Prayer Spaces in Schools around the UK and Ireland, interviewing children, young people, school staff and schools workers, and this is the result.

We hope that this video will inspire you and surprise you. We hope that it will encourage you, and that it will touch your heart too. The children and young people in this video are just like the ones where you and I live... they share the same hopes and fears, the same big questions about life and faith and everything, the same pain and disappointments, the same longing to belong. And tens of thousands of them are discovering that these simple, creative Prayer Spaces are safe places to explore all of this... and to pray for the very first time.

The video below is the full 'directors' edit (aka the long one) but is also available in bite-size and snack-size versions.

It would be nice if every school could have one...

Having watched this, we hope that you will join with us in any (or all) of the following ways:

  1. You can PRAY. Pray for the national team and for local churches hosting Prayer Spaces in primary and secondary schools all over the UK and Ireland.
  2.
You can GIVE. Please consider joining with us as a Prayer Spaces in Schools Supporter.
  3. You can GO. Run a Prayer Space yourself. Use the resources on the Prayer Spaces in Schools website. Get trained and inspired at a workshop near you (or invite us to come and host one). Visit a Prayer Space 'in action' (if you contact us, we'll try to connect you). And go for it.
