Going Deeper this LentDaria Nardozza - 24 Feb 2012

Christmas was our first experience of adding Study Guides to the Spaces/Podcast mix and I think it went quite well. My small group was already half way through a study so I decided I would just work through them myself in my quiet time every week. The great thing about these studies is that they have been created to do in a group or individually, depending on your circumstances and how you would prefer to use them.

The structure we’ve used is  REFLECT-REACT-RESPOND. You start with additional thoughts, quotes, stories, poems, songs, etc... that reflect on the podcast theme of the week. The reflection is followed by some thought provoking questions you could work through as a small group or in your personal journal. Finally, you end off with a personal and prayerful response to your reflections and reactions. These studies could take anywhere from 20 minutes (when you’re in a big rush) to two or three hours, especially when you’re discussing sometimes new or controversial thoughts in a group.

This Lent our hope is to take these studies a little further, deeper and even more thought provoking, as we study the life and miracles of Jesus through the book of John. Please join us in this study through Lent, along with many other from around the world. We would love to hear your feedback on how you are using them (individually or small group) and how we could make them even better for the next season of Prayer Spaces.

Deeper Guides are available for free download on the spaces page or you can subscribe to receive them as part of the spaces itunes podcast.
