Lent: Getting HungryRalf Neumann - 8 Mar 2012

Ralf Neumann is the host of this week's 24-7 Spaces episodes. Ralf is part of a 24-7 Prayer community in Neu Brandenberg, North East Germany. The post communist legacy of the region Ralf and teh PolyLux community call home means this is one of the most aethistic areas of all Europe.

1. What does lent mean to you?

To me lent means to get a very precious chance to refocus. To slow down; to stop and be reminded on all the crazy stuff that Jesus did for me. To come back to the core of why, at some point, I decided to lay my life into his hands. It is a chance to possibly wonder again, to allow God to fill me with thankfulness.

2. What are you giving up/taking up for lent?

I'm going to fast any kind of food for a week this year during the lent season. I've done this before 2 years ago, and it's been really hard and really good at the same time. I think sometimes it it difficult for us to even feel hungry for God, since there are so many things that potentially distract us. So I think this is going to be a rewarding week, almost making a statement like: „I am hungry for more from you, Jesus! I am ready for new things!“

3. What is your prayer for lent

Jesus, walk with us! And next to that: Jesus, make us hungry for more of you – and as you do, please fill us with yourself!

24-7 Spaces are available everyday through Lent, to watch online or to download, you can subscribe through iTunes or catch them on YouTube channel (or our RSS Feed). We will also be tweeting them each day and sharing them on our Facebook page .
