Praying and Expecting - 16 May 2012
Do you ever ask God for something and then forget what you asked for until He answers your prayer? In our first session of day two at the World Prayer Assembly, George Otis, Jr. said:
“We need to learn to expect what we ask for”. So often I am guilty of praying without expectation."

Not even a week ago I was praying about being at the WPA and prayed, even though I was there to see what God was doing in the earth, that He would touch me and speak to me specifically while I was there. And then I forgot about my prayer until yesterday, when I found myself in a room on the 12th floor of a prayer tower with a group of about a dozen of my fellow 24-7 Prayer family from around the world. We were there because one of our friends asked to pray for us and we couldn’t say no to that!

As we began to pray, our friend invited two Egyptian men in the room to come pray as well, and after a few minutes one of them asked if he could pray over each of us, but if we would mind if he prayed in Arabic and his friend translated so he could really “go for it” without having to think about English. And then he began to prophesy over each of us about things only God could have told him! It was one incredible afternoon! When I thought about it before bed last night I remembered my prayer last week and was challenged by the statement I had heard in the morning. If God can answer that prayer when I hardly had any expectations, what could He do in the earth, with just my prayers, if I truly expected an answer?
