What you learn at the world's biggest prayer meetingCarla Harding - 1 Jun 2012

A team from 24-7 Prayer travelled to Indonesia to gather with thousands of other Christians for the World Prayer Assembly. When asked about their time at world's biggest prayer meeting, they had these powerful reflections to share:

Carla Harding (24-7 Intl Prayer Co-ordinator):

Stop underestimating God.

Stop making do with a little when there's a lot more on offer.

We need to pray.  The job's not done.  We need the awareness of God's presence to change our homes, streets, cities, nations and continents.

It's all possible when we seek God and his Kingdom first on our knees.

That's what I took away from spending 5 days with 9000 people at the World Prayer Assembly.  I still have a long way to go to know how to pray without ceasing.  To know in my bones that it's not by might, nor by power, but by Jesus' Spirit that stuff happens.  I met amazing people, I heard inspiring and jaw dropping stories, but it's a hunger for God and His presence that I'm left with...  I need to pray.

Pete Ward (24-7 Finance Director):

It was amazing to be able to take a step back and see the big picture of what God is doing in the nations.  It can be easy to forget in Europe sometimes!

The Holy Spirit is on the move bringing life to many.

The unity expressed across denominations and generations was a joy to see, and one of my favourite moments was loudly and enthusiastically praying into global issues with several thousand other committed followers of Jesus.

We have a lot to learn from the passionate  prayer lives of the South Koreans and Indonesians.
