15 Nations Gather to Pray in the BalkansPhilip Evans - 2 Jul 2012

70 people from 15 nations gathered in Ohrid, Macedonia for the 5th 24-7 Prayer Balkan Connect gathering: Love:React.

The first 24-7 Prayer gathering in the region took place in Belgrade (Serbia) in 2006 and begun to gather like-hearted people from across the Balkans… a subsequent gathering was held in Skopje (Macedonia) in 2009 and for the last 3 years in the lakeside town of Ohrid, with a sense of momentum building among those taking part.

Balkan Connect is primarily a space and place for prayer & mission minded believers from across the South East of Europe to come together and share stories, pray for one another and the region and be encouraged. The gathering this year was focussed on connecting with the Father through prayer and exploring his heart in mission... Love:React

Your role in the Earth is to be loved by God and respond to that love.

Scot Bower joined us from the UK and opened the weekend sharing stories from around the world. Aleksandar Madzarovski, who leads the 24-7 Prayer community in Skopje, shared brilliantly on the humanity of Jesus and Tommie Naumann led a focus on the parables of the lost sheep, coin and son before we joined together outside for a meal and shared communion.

Lee Saville and a team from Romania shared a call to network across the region building a momentum of prayer. They are organising a Prayer Network Day in September and all those who gathered at the conference felt excited to visit, pray and encourage one another. Visit the website for info on the Prayer Day in September.

It seems that another similar gathering in 2013 is a certainty with those attending planning to bring others…  the Balkans are connecting!
