"I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure." Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire, 1981)

As the nations prepare to descend on London this week for the opening ceremony of the Olympics, the UK is already awash with hype as the Olympic torch has been traveling from town to town and is currently making its way back to London to complete the relay - 70 days, 8000 runners, 8000 miles.

To coincide with the olympics the hit film Chariots of Fire has been digitally remastered and rereleased in cinemas in the UK. Winner of four academy awards including Best Picture it is a deeply moving film that portrays the true story of Eric Liddell, Harold Abrahams and the olympic team of 1924.

Chariots of Fire is a timeless classic that celebrates passion, dedication and trust and our good friends at Damaris have produced the official resources that take a deeper look at these powerful Christian themes. They have been produced in such a way as to help churches run outreach events and use the oppurtunity provided by the Olympics and rerelease of Chariots of Fire to connect with their local communities.
