Urgent Prayer for HaitiScot Bower - 23 Aug 2012

This just in from our friends at Tearfund - an urgent plea for prayer for Haiti:

Tropical Storm Isaac is threatening to develop into a hurricane that will hit Haiti on Saturday 25 August. We are extremely concerned that the resulting heavy rains and high winds will affect Haiti's most vulnerable communities. 
 

The consequences of this would be flooding of urban slums, and the destruction of crops and livelihoods in already fragile communities. In some places, families are still living in semi permanent structures following the January 2010 earthquake.

• Please pray that the storm will not develop into a hurricane, and that it will instead change direction and miss surrounding countries in the Caribbean.
• Also, please pray for Tearfund teams, partners and other organisations   in countries at risk as they prepare to respond to any potential damage.
