UK: Riding a Fresh Wave of PrayerBrian Heasley - 21 Sep 2012

The last few months have been exciting for us in the UK.  The Olympics and Paralympics have been a huge success and the-feel-good factor the Games have generated has been remarkable.

People who live in the United Kingdom have a fresh feeling of hope for the future, which you could almost describe as a national lift in spirits! We believe that this is not only due to a tremendous sporting event, but also to the fact that God is on the move here.

24-7 Prayer and Alpha are hosting an unprecedented year of non-stop prayer throughout 2012. The ‘Kingdom Come’ initiative has seen a massive swell in the number of 24-7 prayer rooms. There has been a grand total of nearly 500 happening here already, with over 100 of these being Prayer Spaces in Schools. This is nothing short of remarkable.

God is turning his ear to the cry of his people and in this time of freshness, God is healing our broken land. The yearning of his heart is that a generation would rise up in prayer and mission to carry his salvation to this nation, and this is happening. We are drawing rapidly closer to the National Day of Prayer where, once again, the Church has an opportunity to gather together in England’s premier sporting venue, Wembly Stadium, and continue to cry out for God’s healing in our land. More than 40,000 Christians are expected to take part in this day of unity, worship and prayer on 29th September.

24-7 Prayer wholeheartedly believe that prayer is the answer, and encourage you, if you are not already going, to book a ticket, and get along to Wembley.

Lord, Let your Kingdom Come, let your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.”
