"I don’t know about you, but when I hear testimonies of God moving in some ones life, or in a part of our World, I go all goose bumpy and feel, encouraged, excited and inspired." writes 24-7 Mission's Cally Gee. "We want to be inspired, be reminded that God moves and be motivated to go into the world!
24-7 teams have been praying, playing and obeying God in several youth culture locations for the past four years. Sharing Jesus to a generation, showing that he is real today in what ever circumstances each team has found them in…
The Fringe festival of Edinburgh, Scotland, night clubs of Ibiza, Spain, beach parties of Ayia Napa, Cyprus, the surf of Newquay, England, war torn communities of Belgrade, Serbia, the Olympics in Athens, Greece, and the delights and challenges as far away as India and Brazil. Over 30 teams altogether have ventured out -here are a few ways in which God breathed, blessed and provided....
God’s heart for Athens>>>
God changed me on my 24-7 Missions trip to Athens. I saw a love for Him from me that I never knew I possessed. A love that made me cry, a love that made me yearn so much for the city of Athens ...or perhaps the yearning was more for His people. I experienced a love for his people that kept me awake for hours standing on the roof of the prayer house praising His name and praying like I never knew I could. I discovered prayer is the key to beating in tune with Gods heart and it is the communication He gives us to beat our hearts together. So many times all of us would be doing slightly separated things in the daytime and when we got together the messages were quite simple, unity. It was inspiring to see God work, alive, active, caring, there...it was heart breaking to know that he is always there.

Macedonia messaging>>>
I went to Macedonia with 24-7 and it was totally amazing. I met a girl called Milena in the last week, she sort of believed in a God. Me, a guy called Ross and some others started talking to her and got to know her, I got to know her through thumb wars actually (bring it on!). We invited her to a BBQ on the beach the night after and during that time I talked to her for a couple of hours about God and what he does in peoples lives; she became really interested and opened up about her life, her mum and dad being split up for several years and living in different parts of the country. I told her God may sort it out with time and asked if she would like us to pray for it. She said yes and the next day she decided to give her life to God.

Afterwards we prayed again for God to sort her life out, and we all went home happy. Then next day our team were in a meeting when I got a text from her telling me ' I cant believe it, my parents are getting back together!! She has moved back with both her parents now and is living happily.

God surfing>>>
WOW! what a mental week in Newquay doing mission. Soooooo much praying, worshipping, laughing and some wicked conversations. God was good. The team really gelled and pushed the boat way, way out into deep water. Friday night was unbelivably calm inspite of 500+ people being on the beach. Our prayer walking had paid off and God's presence was tangible. We spoke to so many people about Jesus it was unreal. Craig, who has just come out of prision, gave his life to Christ at 3.30am Saturday morning. Cool.
We finally rolled in from the beach at 5am!

Belgrade – the story unfolds>>>
One of the most special stories from our time in Serbia: ‘Was when one of the team was chatting to a guy who had lived in the US and met with the presence of God there; as he returned to Serbia he looked for it in the orthodox churches and couldn't find it. He was about to leave for a few years to live in a monastery in Greece because he was so desperate to find it again. We talked and he agreed to come to the prayer room; he came that night after the party, and then came to church with us that week too. I watched him in church as he just bowed his head and received from the Holy Spirit. One of the women in the church had a word about someone having continual nightmares; he freaked out and left the building because he knew it was him. We asked to pray with him, and he said he would return the next week. He was ok, his name was George, and we met him through a good friend of ours called Alex.

Alex was in the Orthodox church and came with me to our church to see if the protestant church was really a sect. One of the team offered to go with him to an Orthodox meeting first and he agreed. We talked with him about Jesus, and he knows his bible pretty well. He was a drug dealer, and a former heroin addict. He first accepted Jesus when he was coming off heroin, and he knew Jesus gave him the strength to help him. He came to the prayer room and was really captivated by the presence of God. We gave him a Why Jesus? booklet and after reading it he came back to us and said that he didn't have what that booklet talked about. As he came to the church in the evening he encountered God, and said that he had found what was missing in the Orthodox Church. As he met with god he knew that he should give up dealing, but knew it would leave without money. He took the leap of faith and we heard that one of the guys in the church was meeting with him that week to talk about a job.

I think one of the most exciting things that happened for me at Edinburgh 24-7 was the random divine encounters. One day I was just hanging out with sue in one of the performance venues, and this comedienne who I had chatted to previously was dashing past, I stopped her in her treks and the poor dear was run off her feet doing two shows a day and trying to promote it all herself. She was so tired and really needed encouragement, so I asked her if I could pray for her, her face lit up and she said yes. She went away totally blessed, and hopefully, touched by God.

For myself (Cally) having been a part of the Ibiza team for a few years now, one of our most amazing outcomes for us, came after 6 weeks of meeting up with this German couple who were living on a boat in San Antonio’s port.
They would come every Tuesday and Friday to The Bull Bar in the West-end where the team would put on a free party and give out fruit. The team would spend hours talking and connecting with this couple, they were fascinated by what we were up too.
After a couple of weeks the lady came to our prayer room and was clearly touched by the Holy Spirit as she entered our converted hotel room, including prayer bath and toilet! After weeks of building relationship and friendship with them both, praying with and for them faithfully, talking endlessly and some times tirelessly, offering books to read and other opportunities to hang out with us. The lady gave her life to Jesus in the middle of the West-end. Those there at the time were in sheer elation and excitement. Observers at near by bars could clearly see something pretty special had just taken place. Including her husband, who was intrigued but still reserved.
Through perseverance and God’s timing this became one of many divine appointments to be had in that spot, having brought someone else to faith the year before in the same place and seeing him be baptised in the sea the following year, to giving prophecy to a bar girl who was blown away by what she heard and praying for people there and then as we hung out in the centre of this crazy partying place.
Our dreams, visions and hopes for this Island are becoming realities more and more. You can see the spiritual changes in atmosphere and peoples hearts when you enter certain places or meet bar owners from previous visits. The once ‘god squad’ attitude has turned to acceptance, friendship and respect. God has and so definitely is on the move throughout the Balearics and definitely in the hearts of Ibiza’s people.
WOOHOO! Isn’t God good! As I have read through these glimpses of God’s hand at work I have been reminded of so many other answers to prayer and just how inclusive, detailed and individual God is at unfolding people’s lives to encounter Him and graciously including us to play a part in drawing others closer to himself. It’s amazing! Take a minute to think how God has worked on your behalf! Well God not only wants to change your life He wants and needs you to help change others – you are chosen and purposed for a part of His great plan that only you can complete with Him. COME ON! If you look closely there is a ‘u’ in mission!

I wanted to share a few of them with you in the hope that it will revive your passion for mission and encourage you to take up the baton in God’s great commission again or perhaps for the first time. Go on take the risk it might just be the start to something amazing!
