A Gathering Marked in History - Reflections on Eurogathering - 15 Nov 2012
Pete Waugh from 24-7 Ireland reflects on his recent trip to Frankfurt for the Eurogathering...
It would be obvious and pretty easy for me to state that my time in Frankfurt at the Euro gathering was the most amazing and inspirational gathering I had ever been to. It really was. But there is more to say than a bunch of well-chosen superlatives.
The night before I left for Frankfurt I was at work in Bangor at the group we run for 6th formers and students. David, one of my guys, came into our coffee bar and handed me a box of chocolates. Before he spoke I thought this was a great and unexpected gift – an extension of generosity from a fantastic young person.
Then he spoke and uttered these words, ‘Pete you are to give these to Fanel. He is a legend from Moldova and is going to the 24-7 Prayer gathering you are going to.’ David had previously spent time in Moldova whilst completing a time of outreach on his Discipleship Training School with YWAM.
We chatted a bit about Fanel and as I drove home that night and packed the chocolates in my case a warm fuzzy feeling came across my heart as I realized that the next few days God was going to reveal himself in mighty ways. This was just the first of many Kingdom stories.
