UK: pray for 24-7er wanting to run prayer room in police station! - 11 Apr 2005

Kate K, a radio operator from the West Yorkshire Police in northern England and 24-7talkback regular, says: "You might remember me mentioning some time ago that I had a burning desire to set up a 24-7 style prayer room in a police station.

I am an active member of the Christian Police Association in West Yorkshire and am trying to organise something along those lines around the date of the National Day of Prayer for the Police which will be Thursday 5 May.
There are a couple of problems,

1. Lack of space, finding a room that is not in use for a 24 hour period in a busy police station is proving to be a problem
2. Security, I had a mind to open the room up to people from outside the police as well as police staff.
3. The date may well clash with the General Election which will bring further complications.

I would really appreciate prayer around this, I believe that something will happen in the heavenlies if people gather in a police station to pray. It might be that I am getting too hung up on this though and that the venue doesn't have to be in a police station at all.

I may even scrap the idea of a prayer room and organise a prayer walk instead at key places around the force area.
Haing said all that, time is of the essence and decisions need to be made quickly so this can be organised and publicised ASAP.

Many thanks for your support."
