Despite their being enough food in the world, every 15 seconds a child dies from malnutrition.

Apparently the average adult can read around 300 words per minute (according to a recent speed-reading test sponsored by staples), that means that by the time you finish reading this sentence one child would have died of something preventable. It's time to act!

24-7 Prayer have joined with a coalition of over 100 countries in the UK to support the IF campaign which is working towards ending world hunger.

This year the UK is hosting the G8 summit; a forum for the world’s eight wealthiest countries. The IF campaign is asking you to help them make some noise and, as the leaders of the richest countries in the world gather together, tell them that it is time for all of us to do something about world hunger.

Over the past few weeks we have been posting videos produced by the IF campaign to give you some points of action that you can do to support the campaign, and we are currently in the process of producing our own video which will be released in the next couple of weeks.

The BIG IF Event

If you happen to be in the UK then the IF campaign are organizing an event on the 8th June for tens of thousands of people to gather for a rally in London’s Hyde Park.  The event is designed to make a massive noise and demand an end to hunger, they intend to get every person to help build a breathtaking field of spinning flowers with 2 million petals in total; representing the 2 million children that die from hunger every year. Speaking at the event will be philanthropist Bill Gates and former Archbishop of Canterbury and Chair of Christian Aid Rowan Williams, among others.

A similar event will be happening on the 15th June in The Botanic gardens of Belfast.
