IF Campaign: Fast Food Thursday - 5 Jun 2013

Let’s show the G8 Leaders how hungry we are to end world hunger

As part of the action around the G8 Summit, the IF Campaign are encouraging people to fast food on Thursday the 6th June.

The idea behind ‘Fast Food Thursday’ is that we make a choice to be hungry when we have food available, to stand on behalf of the millions who have no choice but to go hungry.

The IF Campaign reminds us that there is enough food in the world for everyone but millions do not get enough food to live. They are calling for everyone to help them make a noise and, as the leaders of the world’s 8 richest countries gather for the G8 Summit, tell them it is time for this scandal to stop.

The organisers of the campaign have produced a Quick Guide where you can find more details and ideas to help you engage with the fast. If you cannot fast a whole day then why not fast a meal or even just luxury food for the day. You could also arrange to fast with a group of friends and then meet together to break the fast and pray for the leaders of the G8 Summit.

To ensure maximum political impact then tell the world you’re fasting. On the IF Campaign website you can register to the IF Fast and let the world leaders know how passionate you are to see the beginning of the end of world hunger.
