Pray at 1:08PM for the 1 in 8 that go hungry every night - 13 Jun 2013

"God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it"
John Wesley

As some of the world's most powerful leaders meet in the UK for the G8 Summit we are asking you to join with thousands in prayer.

We know that prayers and powerful and through prayer we can change the world so as part of the IF Campaign we are setting our alarms at 1:08PM to remind us to pray for the leaders of the G8 and the 1 in 8 who go hungry every night. Here is a quote from Pete Greig about why he is supporting the 1:08 prayer for the G8:

'I'm supporting the IF campaign's call for prayer around the G8 summit for three reasons: Firstly, it's Biblical. We are commanded to pray for our leaders, and the G8 gathers the most powerful leaders in the world. Secondly, it's urgent. When one person in every eight goes to bed hungry, something has to be done. Thirdly, it's powerful. Lobbying politicians is important, but lobbying the King of Kings unlocks the greatest power in heaven and on earth.'

Tearfund have produced some amazing resources for individuals and groups to help fuel your prayers for the G8. You can also sign up to their daily email for the G8 Summit to get specific prayer points at 1:08PM every day of the G8.
