Covering London Estates in PrayerTheresa Stone - 18 Jun 2013

As a Londoner, I felt a sense of anticipation when I heard that 24-7 Prayer is launching on seven housing estates around the capital city this July.

Wealth and poverty exists side by side in London, England, and tall housing blocks are the backdrop for many people's day to day lives. The initiative to pray on London's estates is part of a joint vision from a number of urban mission organisations who are partnering together under the banner of LondonEstates247 to pray that deprived neighborhoods will be transformed from the inside out. They aim to reach disaffected teenagers and give them a chance to discover their potential.

A baton of prayer will be passed to a new part of London at midnight, and each area of London will be covered in 24 hours in prayer, clock face style. 24-7 Prayer GB communities are also going to pray for those on the London estates during the week which kicks off on Monday 1st July.

If you are in London living on an estate, or if you work in an estate, then please get praying! If you don't live in GB, please pray for the initiative from wherever you are. We need your prayers.
