Transmission: Book Now! - 28 Apr 2005

While they were worshipping the Holy Spirit said ' Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work I have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. (Acts13:2-3)

What is it about a looming summer that makes people get all panicky about what to do next? Is it the heat? The long drawn-out evenings? A prospect of all change or no- change? Suddenly an academic year of drifting or faithful serving is pushed to the back of the mind as the focus becomes honouring God with their future time and resources.

Sometimes it can feel that we are stuck in the rat race running from one thing to the next...
Sometimes it can feel that we are stuck in the rat race running from one thing to the next – it's so important to take a step back, and listen to God's heart and call for our lives. Amidst all of the good works we can find ourselves doing (or occasionally avoiding – lets be honest), God sometimes waits for a special time – a kairos moment - to call us into something new.

It's often in these times that He surprises us with His vision. When we give ourselves time to re-focus our lives in His service. When we are able to connect with old friends and new. When we give space to be inspired by people on fire for Jesus and listen out for God's Word spoken over us in the small hours during a late night chat.

This is my vision for Transmission. That the Holy Spirit might come and tell us to 'Go.' That as a community we might pray with each other and send each other out. By blessing and sharing with each other we might support a call to the nations; and not just for now, but for a lifetime.

Don't miss this moment. Will you be there? Have you booked? Be a part of this community – whether as a Saul or an elder; sent or sending; we need you to be there. Catch a vision for the nations. Hear God's call and respond. Book your place now!
