Pray for N. Africa during RamadanThe Phantom Intercessor - 8 Jul 2013
Ramadan starts this week and is an extremely significant time for Muslims. It falls on the ninth month of the Muslim calender year and fasting during Ramadan is considered one of the five pillars of Islam (wiki link). This holy month of fasting is a time for the devoted to abstain from food, drink and sexual relations during the daylight hours. It’s a time when people are encouraged to be devout in the spiritual practices of reading the Quran and praying and to be kind to the people around them.
This month also provides an excellent opportunity for Christians to pray for the Muslim world and our Muslim friends. This is especially important at the moment considering the riots happening in Egypt.
