Have your choice: 7 Seminar Streams at the International Gathering - 5 Sep 2013
It's just over a month until our first International Gathering in three years. We will be meeting in beautiful city of Dublin (Ireland) and the programme is shaping up to be an incredible time of fellowship, learning, prayer and worship.
The title of this Gathering is 'Encounter:Culture' and has been designed to resource people to usher God's Kingdom into all aspects of life and culture.
As part of the programme we will be running 7 different streams over 4 seminar sessions. These sessions will run at 14.30 and 16.00 on Friday and Saturday and will provide a range of topics to go and learn from some amazing speakers. You can either choose to follow a journey with one stream and go to all 4 sessions, or experience a different stream for each.
Here are the 7 different streams - you can find out all the info about speakers and the titles of all the sessions within each stream in the Dublin section of the website:
Encounter: Creativity
It all began with God’s creativity. The story of Creation is the story of the passionate God putting his glory on display through his own creative expression. Made in his image, there is a holy calling on our lives to reflect his glory though our creativity. This stream looks at the Biblical basis for this calling, practical steps for nurturing creativity, the prophetic impact of creative expression and creativity as a response to God’s heart for the world.
Encounter: Leadership
It has been said that any community or organisation is 'as strong or weak as its leadership'. Dynamic and growing movements will be catalysed, shaped and guided by skilled leaders who have been equipped to lay good foundations. In these sessions experienced leaders explore four key characteristics of strong leadership and good foundations.
Encounter: Church
This stream will be a facilitated forum, encouraging conversation and interpersonal interaction in small groups that then gets highlighted in the larger group conversation. We will look at various models of church connected to 24-7 – the European root drawing from our monastic heritage, the larger established churches connecting to the movement and then the Kansas City journey from friendship to establishing a Boiler Room. In particular we will focus on the pioneering mission impulse, training and the call to express church as family.
Encounter: Justice
We have always said that Prayer, Mission and Justice are equal core values of 24-7 Prayer. Has justice become sidelined? Is justice something that happens naturally as we partake in the adventure of Prayer and Mission, or is justice something to be actively pursued? God specifically requires us to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before Him. In this stream, current justice practitioners will teach, inspire and answer questions, sharing what they have learned through their own journeys and experiences. Through stories and dialogue, they will help us to explore what it means to live with justice at the core of what we do and how we can practically outwork justice issues, both as communities and individuals.
Encounter: Prayer
Prayer is the life – breath of the kingdom of Jesus; it connects us with the heartbeat of the Father. This stream will inspire you and look creatively at prayer that roots you deeper into your relationship with Jesus, encourages you to step out into the supernatural and also enables you to practically engage in mission. As we pray we draw from the presence of God – be inspired and be equipped.
Encounter: Mission
From the early days of 24-7 we have recognised that our biggest challenge may not be what we do with our lives but where we do what we do! Location matters and the gospel is multidimensional, bringing life to all people. As we pray God opens doors into the untouched places and calls us to move – whether into the workplace, across the street or across borders. These sessions will look at lessons from the movements of the past as a launch pad to engage with God’s mission among the nations.
Encounter: Intercession
‘Ask of me and I will give you the nations as an inheritance.’ One of our aims at Encounter Culture is to host the presence of God and pray for the Kingdom of God to break in, that the light of the gospel will shine in the darkest of situations. Come and cry out for God’s will to be done among the nations. Each session will involve worship and intercession.
You can find a break a break down of the 4 engage sessions within each stream in the Dublin13 Seminar Streams Page. In this section you can also find out all the details about accommodation and pricing and book your tickets.
