Wanted: Scarves with 'Swag' (International Gathering Auction) - 27 Sep 2013

In true 24-7 gathering tradition we will holding a famous 'frivilous' auction at our International Gathering in Dublin next month. Every year the auction proves to be a highlight of the gathering; providing the perfect oppurtunity to show outrageous generosity. Over the years we have auctioned a t-shirt for £3200 (yep, that's not a typo!), a homemade laptop cover for £1000 and some dried mango even picked up a good £100. 

In case you have never been able to make it to a 24-7 gathering and experience one of our auctions, then the idea is simple; we pick a theme and ask people to get creative and make something that we can then auction - in the past we have done t-shirts, trainers, hats. The auction is not about picking up a bargain, in fact its quite the opposite, it's about giving extravagantly and paying way over what something is worth. 

So for the International Gathering we have decided to go with scarves, so we are putting the shout and calling for people to create some scarves with swag.

Here's what you do:

1. GET THINKING: choose something that could pass as a scarf.

2. GET CREATIVE: These scarves need swag so the more creative the better.

3. GET PERSONAL: This is the first International Gathering in 3 years and we have people coming from all over the world. Let's celebrate by having plenty of flags and national colours represented!

4. GET TO DUBLIN: Bring your masterpiece to International Gathering in Dublin (17-20 October)

5. GET BIDDING: remember to also bring some cash so you can bid as well as donate

The auction will be held on the saturday night in Trinity College after we feast together in the Banquet Hall. 

All the money will go towards a deserving cause.
