International Gathering: DJ Led Worship - 9 Oct 2013
Yesterday we promoted the open-mic night at the International Gathering. Today we have another exciting event as part of the After Hours entertainment:
Highlight 3: EPIC: DJ Led Worship
On Friday night, as the open-mic night is held in the cafe of the artsy Filmbase venue, downstairs we will have DJ Nick Ashman leading worship on his decks at 'Epic'.
'Epic' started in London in 2008, by a group of 24-7ers who started meeting in churches across London before finally settling in the then London City Boiler Room. It soon turned into a community of people looking to worship God and find Him in prog house, trance and filmscore/chillout music.
Club music and 24-7 Prayer have walked together since 24-7 began in 1999. Mission trips to Ibiza were fuelled by people's love of Jesus, dancing and praying, and was the starting point for the permanent work that now exists in Ibiza. 24-7 even released it's own CDs of DJ remixes, inspired to fuel prayer and worship.
We caught up with Nick to ask him what to expect and he had this to share:
"EPIC is a DJ led worship and prayer event that will lift you up, get you dancing, give you space to pray, worship, cry out and hear from God.
Euphoric, uplifting and melodic; our aim for the night is to worship God, wait for Him and just like David “dance before the Lord with all (our) might” 1 Samuel 6: 14 & 15. After our event we will then (if you’re not to shattered) go to a local club with 24-7 Club & Pray"
You can check out some of Nick's music on his website OneFiveOne or find out more about Epic.
