USA: Unhindered in prayer - 3 Jun 2005

The more observant amoung you might have noticed that Immanuel Fellowship appear regularly on the 'Now Praying' scroll bar. Located in the beautiful ski resort of Frisco, Colorado the church was planted about six years ago by Mike phillips and a handful of other people.

Last summer Immanuel Fellowship started a 24-7 prayer room. The church is small, but it was agreed that the Lord wanted the church to go 40 days non-stop praying. It was a challenge but as often happens, the impact
was so great upon the church, that it decided to keep going! Today, ten months later, the Prayer Room is still going strong. Although it's not always 24-7, the Prayer Room is always open for prayer. During the first six months of 24-7 prayer the emphasis definitely seemed to be on individuals within the church growing in personal intimacy with Jesus, and on witnessing personal spiritual breakthroughs. Now, the emphasis is changing toward looking outward, both locally and worldwide.

The vision has been instilled that Immanuel Fellowship will send forth church planting teams around the world, especially to the most unreached and needy areas of the world. In the very first month of doing 24-7 prayer, God gave Mike a vision one night of a mighty army emerging of young radical disciples that stretched from Europe across the Atlantic through Canada and the United States, going all the way down Latin America. As he looked more closely, the army of disciples linking arms was in the shape of a "sickle". Mike believed the Lord told him that He was preparing workers from Europe, North America, and Latin America for an army that would serve in the world harvest like a sickle.

Since the vision building relationships with like-minded workers and churches in Europe and Latin America has become a priority for the church. They even sent a group of ten to IAM5 in London this past February.

Immanuel Fellowship will be hosting "Unhindered 2005", a free conference this summer for those who have a passion for reaching the world through the planting of new churches. From June 23-26 Young people will gather to be envisioned, equiped and to seek God's face together with other like-minded disciples. Pete Greig will be teaching, along with other experienced practitioners. It will be a great time to connect with others who have been impacted by 24-7 Prayer in the USA.
