Announcing a New 24-7 Prayer InitiativeThe Phantom Intercessor - 1 Apr 2014
Please note (as it is no longer April 1st):
This was a little April Fools' joke. We won't actually be launching any Prayer Spaces in Loos initiative.
Do you ever wonder how it is that our lives continue to get more convenient but it never seems to translate into having more free time? The Bible instructs us to work on “making the best use of the time because the days are evil” (Eph 5:16). We would all love to find more time to spend with the Lord, but making that a reality in our busy lives requires some ingenuity, and we think we’ve hit on a brilliant idea...
24-7 Prayer is excited to announce our newest prayer initiative;
A recent UK study revealed that 73% of people surveyed confessed to having prayed at least once in their lifetime while in the toilet, with approximately 13% admitting to regularly praying in the toilet. We want to see this number increase.
What better opportunity is there to redeem the time than to welcome God into the toilet where we are already seated
Phil Togwell, Director of Prayer Spaces in Schools, shares why he is so excited about this new initiative. “The Apostle Paul challenges us to be ‘praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication’.” he recently shared as we sat down with him over coffee and a bran muffin. “I want to make the most of every opportunity to spend time with God, knowing I can come to Him in confidence, whatever state I am in, and He is faithful to meet me there. What better opportunity is there to redeem the time than to welcome God into the toilet where we are already seated, still and quiet?”

Would you like to redeem the time and pray as you poo? Our team has put together a few tips, ideas and photos to help you turn your toilet into a Throne Room:
♦ Set up ‘stations’ using things that are already in the room, such as the sink, the toilet paper, air freshener, etc…
♦ Suggest prayer points that allow people to pray for relevant needs, such as those with digestive health issues or poor sanitation
♦ Consider making your church building's toilets into individual prayer stations to encourage and promote prayer among your congregation
For health reasons we recommend making it a reflection space rather than an interactive space
Those of us that have embraced this exciting opportunity to wait on God and invite Him into this part of our lives have begun to experience Him in a new way. Hashtag #prayasyoupoo to connect with others who are creating their own Prayer Spaces in Loos.
