#prayeralert: Monsoon Rains Cause Building Collapses in IndiaLaura Gish - 2 Jul 2014

It’s monsoon season for India.

The rains have come full force, and they aren’t expected to stop anytime soon. Though it doesn’t come as a surprise to residents, the rain still seriously affects the people and their livelihoods.

Many buildings in India are poorly constructed due to lax laws and second-rate materials. Homes are often built poorly and without permission. This becomes a dangerous issue when monsoon season arrives…

In New Delhi a building collapsed over the weekend due to the rains. Contract workers had been gathered in the 11-story building to collect their wages and at least 26 people lost their lives.

Rains continue to fall as rescuers search for survivors amid the debris. This was the third building to fall over the weekend.

Please pray for India as the monsoon persists. Pray that:

•    God would provide supernatural protection from further loss of life.
•    All survivors from the collapsed buildings would be found and rescued.
•    There would be adequate shelter and medical supplies for those in need during the monsoon season.
•    The Word of God would be available to all peoples of this nation, and that those who believe would run swiftly with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
