Survival Guide to Transmission>>> - 28 Jun 2005

So you’ve decided to come to Transmission and take a long weekend to learn from others, share your story and listen to God.  Fantastic!  Now all you need to know is what to bring and how to get there…

Transmission is a camping event so do come expecting to be dirty, and plan for the unpredictability of English weather!

What do I bring to a festival for mission?

Camping equipment
Transmission is a camping event, you will need to bring your own tent and sleeping gear.  Don’t forget it or you’ll be out under the stars!

Cooking equipment

The camp will be self catered so bring your stoves and cool boxes to cook your food for the weekend.  Some food vans will be on site and local supermarkets are listed below.

Money
If your bringing your food then once you’re on site you may not need to spend anything.  You may want to bring something for the food vans, the marketplace, going out and about in Harpenden and the offering during the weekend.

Be practical when packing
Clothing (It will be July but you know what England can be like) bring layers, Toothbrush, Deodorant, Towel, Talcum Powder (great for absorbing grease in dirty hair), Sun cream, Ear plugs & Eye patches, Torch, Toilet Paper (you know it always runs out, good to have your own stash), Flip Flops for the shower, Bible, notebook & pen (lots to learn and listen to, don’t get caught short), Caps, hats, scarves, First Aid kit and Passport!  The key question is ‘what would my mother check I’ve brought’.  Don’t bring anything valuable, it might get ruined or stolen and remember it’s not a fashion show.  We will all smell by the end of the weekend!

How to get to Transmission
There is very limited parking at Harpenden Oval so if you are driving we recommend you share lifts and book your parking space by emailing [email protected].  We strongly recommend that you travel to Harpenden by other means where ever possible.
