#prayeralert: Ebola — a Fatal Illness With No Cure — Strikes LiberiaLaura Gish - 1 Aug 2014

Ebola spreads fast and beyond human control.

It has a 90 percent fatality rate. A recent outbreak in Liberia has already claimed 129 lives. Many health officials are at risk and some have fallen ill due to close care with victims of the virus. The highly contagious disease spreads quickly from human to human.

The initial symptoms of Ebola are fever and a sore throat. Because symptoms imitate many other illnesses, including the common cold, it is difficult to identify and prevent spread of the disease during the subtle beginning stages. Travel between neighboring countries also poses serious danger. Many West African countries are concerned that traveling victims could further the spread beyond Africa.

Please Pray for Liberia!

•    There is great concern for health officials in direct contact with the victims. Please pray for their protection as they try to nurse Ebola victims back to good health. Pray they would take extra caution to protect themselves from contracting the disease.
•    Although this disease brings a high fatality rate, we know God is greater. Pray for a miracle! Pray that believers would rise up and be called to prayer for the victims and this nation.
•    Pray that the Word of God is available to all peoples and tribes in Liberia. Pray the Holy Spirit would embolden believers to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout this nation.
•    Pray the disease would not spread any further. Pray for authorities to consider the safety of other nations by taking measures to limit travel country to country until this destructive plague has been stopped in its tracks
