#prayeralert: Violence in Northern Nigeria Laura Gish - 13 Jan 2015
A town market in northern Nigeria was attacked Sunday afternoon when two girls aged 10 entered the marketplace with bombs strapped to their chests. The attack injured 46 people and killed three — not including the bombers. The day prior, a young girl about 10, also strapped with a bomb, entered a busy market in the city of Maiduguri. At least 16 people lost their lives.
Many young school girls were kidnapped from northern Nigeria in July 2014. These are the girls suspected to be involved in these bombings. This violence has been waging war for five years. Just last year more than 10,000 people died as a result.
Please pray for the nation of Nigeria and the innocent children involved in these incidents.
- Pray for the protection of these young girls. Ask that God would intervene in their lives by giving them dreams and visions of His love for them.
- Pray that the Word of God would go forth in power and might in Nigeria. Pray for access to the Scriptures. May truth prevail and defeat the powers of evil and darkness.
- Ask God to call Nigerian brothers and sisters of faith to humble themselves and pray for peace in their land.
- Pray that perpetrators would turn to righteousness. May revival and restoration sweep across Nigeria!
