Escape and Pray EuropeRich Wilson - 9 Apr 2015

If you are a student or student worker based in the UK and want to go on adventure this summer, our good friends at Fusion Student Network may have just the thing for you (and to be honest, we kinda wished we had thought of it first....)
Paul had probably been planning to visit Athens for some time, however, it wasn’t until he actually set foot in the place that his spirit was stirred by the idolatry (Act 17v16).
He walked the streets among the many shrines (v23) and no doubt prayed about the things he noticed. He sought to understand the culture and even quoted their poets (v28).
Paul would go on to preach the gospel in Athens and see a number of men and women believe. It started with praying around the city and noticing what could be used to help the locals understand God.
In June 2015 dozens of teams or two, three and four are escaping to European cities to pray for the church and students. Escape and Pray is designed to sow seeds of the gospel and it is designed to be an adventure. The teams won’t know where they are going until they arrive at the airport, they won’t need to take many belongings and will be challenged to complete a number of tasks.
We believe that the local church and students are about to collide right across Europe resulting in huge Kingdom waves crashing over this continent. If you are up for an adventure and want to pray for some student cities, find out more here, who knows you could end up in Athens!
‘Could it be that in Europe a fire is being stoked and the universities are the kindling?’
