24-7 Prayer Mission Teams Filling FastIan Nicholson - 14 Apr 2015
If you are planning to apply for one of 24-7 Prayer’s Mission Teams there is good news and bad news...
The bad news is that quite a few of the teams – Ibiza, Istanbul and both Lebanon groups - are now full. However the good news is that there are still spaces for Macedonia in June, Ireland and Magaluf in July and Iceland in late July/ August.
Applications need to be in for the end of April to ensure a place and enable us to shape the teams. Simply go to our Mission Teams page for the full details and applications.
But for a quick summary of some of the teams still available, check out below...
MAGALUF
Tracy Heasley (who, along with husband Brian developed the 24-7 Ibiza work for many years) was touched by shocking headlines from Magaluf, Mallorca last summer and determined to get some prayer teams there.
"The newspapers last year were full of reports from Magaluf. They used words like carnage, scandal and mayhem
in describing totally out of control behaviour involving sex, drugs and alcohol. It was heartbreaking
but Brian and I saw the love of God touch so many people as we prayed and reached out in Ibiza
and I knew we had to do something."
After a first short trip last year Tracy is now organizing these two, pioneer Magaluf teams in July. Ibiza began with similar teams committed to praying intensely and reaching out on the streets. And this pioneering work is still looking for volunteers...
ICELAND
The team to the Westmann Islands in Iceland began with a similar vision as Simon Turner was touched by the reports of excess and violence at the annual rock festival. Teams have been going for several years now sharing God’s love, praying with partygoers and seeing incredible change in the culture and life of the festival.
MACEDONIA
The Macedonia team will give you a totally different insight in Orthodox Eastern Europe working with the 24-7 Glasnost community. You will get to meet 24-7 friends from across the Balkans at Balkan Connect before joining Glasnost as they reach out to their friends in Skopje. If you missed out on Lebanon and Turkey and have a heart for pioneer mission this would be a great team to join.
NORTHERN IRELAND
The Belfast team still has a few spaces working with a newly planted 24-7 community on the Peace Line in a city that has suffered so much with division and sectarianism in the past. The 24-7 team works on an interface where Catholics, Protestants and ethnic minorities live side by side. And the vision is simply to see the unconditional love, grace and peace bring transformation to the area.
24-7 Mission Teams will not just stretch you but make a huge difference in kickstarting vision and supporting 24-7 Prayer's work on the ground.
They are a simple way to make a big difference…. So pray and then get your form in!
