The best thing about this map? It’s already out of date...
We’ve confirmed dozens more since we drew this up, and even then we can only represent those who have gotten directly in touch with us. We know through word of mouth the total to be a lot higher and the coverage to be a lot wider (Durham, for example, which lies untouched on the map, we know to have seen half a dozen prayer spaces already...)
But even if we had all the numbers confirmed - this would be just a fraction of the work of Prayer Spaces in Schools. This, of course, is just a map of the UK - and since Prayer Spaces in Schools’ inception, its been picking up momentum all over the world...
But, until we can bring you all those numbers for sure, join with us in being encouraged and inspired by this beautiful image - as we see the impact of Prayer Spaces in Schools turning the tide amongst children and young people… C’mon!
Phil leads the Prayer Spaces in Schools teams, as well as the Anglican Diocese of Durham’sPrayer Project. He’s worked in a wide range of Youth and Community settings and also served at 24-7’s UK Director for 7 years. Phil lives by the North Coast of England with his wife, daughters and dogs.
