Canada: crime stops for a night! - 19 Sep 2005
After almost a year of praying into the Pleasant Hill neighborhood (possibly the roughest area of Saskatoon, SK), Vanguard (a great ministry in the city) launched it's first major outreach event ...The "Day in the Park" was more than we could have even imagined. With 70 volunteers from over 15 different churches, close to 600 people from the neighborhood were touched by the love and grace of our God. The day was filled with peace, fun, music, food and miracles!
The day was preceded with an all night prayer watch held right on site in the Park. Every hour from 8pm till 8am the following morning believers called upon the Name of the Lord to see heaven loosed on Earth! The results were astounding as the Lord blanketed the entire park with His Presence, peace and protection!
- People from the neighborhood stated that they could not remember a time when families could just hang out and enjoy their park because of the violence and danger that regularly threatens this neighborhood.
- Local Police could not believe that there was not one incident requiring their assistance.
- One man shared that he had been crying out to the Lord for help to come into this neighborhood and he shared with tears of joy that this event was an answer to his prayers!
- Before the main activities of the day even started, a man on his way to his drug dealers was hi-jacked by the Holy Spirit and felt drawn to come into the tent. Within minutes this man met Jesus and called upon His name for Salvation!
