"God has big plans for us..." Students gather to transform their countryThe Phantom Intercessor - 17 Jul 2015

"God had big plans for our city,

but it is isn’t there yet…"

Over a recent 16 week period, more than a thousand students in the Netherlands took part in an innovative and unique prayer initiative…

We had been wondering - what would happen if students all over our country committed themselves to continual prayer; to put God first in their life and for the restoration of our nation.

So we decided to find out.

Young people from 15 cities around the country signed up - and at a student gathering in January, we ‘prayer crowdsurfed’ representatives from each into the first Prayer Room. Soon, student dorms, bars, churches and living rooms were being transformed into sacred places where students were praying 24-7 for 16 weeks.

And God was doing amazing things…

“The peace in the room was so overwhelming. There was a kind of natural impulse to seek God, because there was no one else to talk to. Strangely enough, the two hours in the prayer room flew by, so I stayed there for the next two hours, too"

"The past couple of weeks I had experienced a lack of joy and love for God. But now, the week after my time in the Prayer Room, I still feel a genuine love to worship Him"

“What I experienced in the time I was praying this week was a sense of expectation. God had big plans for our city, but it is isn’t there yet…”

“With five people we’ve asked God to give us divine appointments so we could share Gods love for us: God gave us nine.”

“During my time in prayer I noticed that my expectation that God wants to do great things in our city was growing. God confirmed his promises and showed me that I must continue to hope, expect and believe. He showed me that I need to persevere in my belief.”

We’re excited about how God is going to answer these prayers. Please pray with us that God will raise up a generation in the Netherlands who live out a life of prayer, mission and justice.
